is there anyone out there who has spent much of their life around jws and then been sparated from family long term enough to almost have no real bond and social structure left in their lives?.
and is there anyone having had that happen now living a happy and fulfilling job like existence?.
i always wonderd how job could be happy after losing so many loved ones?

Never liked to read Job either. It was way too much like the Greek gods who used mankind for their amusement. God allowing people to be tortured to prove a point to Satan is too sadistic for me.
Making friends is hard work, but it can be done. The jws definately retard the process by their us and them mentality.

Yes, I got one. It amazed me that the man who brought it had not advanced in his simple presentation in the past 20+ years. At least he came by, most just avoid me as if I don't exist. My husband said it was because I hurt their feelings by not going to the kingdom hall.
The guilt continues.
i remember after i had been inviting in a couple of ladys to chat a few times (but i was not a study at this point) i asked outright if me and my kids would be destroyed at armageddon , and one of them replied "yes you will if you are not a jw " i was terrified , i rang my dad and he said to tell them to piss off nxt time they come because they are a cult , how i wish i had listened , but i started a study , and i remeber an elder telling me that the other lady that used to call on me cringed when her friend said to me outright that yes you will be destroyed, and had wished she had put it differently (lied perhaps ) this elder told me that when you study you may not like everthing you learn but its like being given a meal , just because you dont like something on your plate dosnt mean you cant eat the rest of the meal !!!!!
is it in their literature to lie to studys ?
i know that a lot of jws have said they havnt heard about the michael porter and local child molester scandal when people have mentioned it on the ministery, there is no way that can be true considering the coverage it got , do you think it is announced at the hall to pretend they know nothing so they dont have to discuss it ?
The books they use for Bible studies say it all. Look through the latest study book and see in what order they place their teachings. Also, notice how much time is spent on their more objectionable teachings.
I noticed over the years, each study book spent less time on blood, holidays, nationalism, etc. I studied out of the blue wonder-The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life. It would have a whole chapter on such things. The newer ones only mention them in passing, if at all.
They explained to me that new ones would "pick these things up at the meetings."

9:30 - 11:30 -- public talk and wt study.
Exact times vary, but that is the general schedule for a witness. Not everyone goes out in field service on Sunday (or Sat.), but it is encouraged.
A couple things missing-a weekly family study and reading the recent Wat. and Awake.
Leaves a lot of free time for fun, huh?
obviously some of you were , but some topics i notice get huge amouts of folk reading them but not replying , i think that had i had internet access years ago and read some of these threads i wouldnt have lasted another week at kingdom hall , and yet i still imagine going to sit in the hall during a meeting so i could see what its like listening to a talk without a programmed mind and knowing that its a sign of a cult if your friends and family warn you its a cult but the cult tells you its just satan trying to get you out "the truth"!
Leaving the religion is a slow process. Being able to read anonymously on here is a big benefit, as it sets that process in motion. I think most read for quite a while before posting.
I think having a personal issue with ill treatment by the jws is a big factor to make one ready for change, as Mr. flipper said.

I've always believed their fraction policy is an attempt to mitigate damages as the governments and changing laws catch up with them. I am sure they know these things are in the works long before they appear in the news.
Hopefully, it will cause them to abandon the blood policy all together.

Here in the states, it is a disfellowshipping offense to join the girl scouts. Being a leader would certainly be out of the question. These organizations engage in nationalism, according to the watchtower.
She needs to ask them outright if she is permitted to continue as a member after baptism. The elders go over the questions for baptism before a person qualifies. She needs to ask them too.
The problem is, the farther into this teaching she goes, the less chance she has of breaking free from its control. You need to help your friend to avoid baptism. This teaching may be a good place to start. Time is of the essence though.
i was when i had an affair , but this elders pioneer daughter told me she understood why i had done it , i was feeling dreadfull and so guilt ridden but he said i should through myself at my hubs feet and beg forgiveness from him and had i lived 2000 years ago i would have been stoned to death !
the strange thing is a few years later this elder told me he had feelings for me , but he was married and old enough to be my dad , although i liked him as a person by then and had forgotten what he had said to me about being stoned to death, i was a bit annoyed that he told me not to tell anyone ,and yet was telling other people to tattle tale on others , i know he felt really bad about his feelings though and i did feel sorry for him , but asked him not to visit anymore as it made me feel guilty towards his wife , maybe it was gods way of getting him to see things from a wrong doers point of view ,as he had a reputation for being very harsh on wrong doers (like myself) maybe he makes a better elder nowadays after that insight , or maybe they think i was sent by satan to seduce a pioneer and an elder !
Strange, I didn't read of Jesus ever encouraging stoning? They love to go back to that ancient law code that we were never involved in to begin with. The softer stuff just doesn't appeal as much to them.
It always appalled me when they talked of stoning children and wrongdoers "in the good old days."

I agree. Most politicians will say anything to get elected. No, make that all politicians. It's hard to watch. Aren't we to the point where neither Clinton or Obama can reach the required number of delegates to win the nomination of the Democratic party outright? Sounds like a problem to me.
I will take a Democrat right now because I really want the war to be put to an end. I lost respect for McCain a long time ago. Bush treated him like dirt and now he's his best buddy? I guess politicians will align themselves with anyone to get elected too. Thus, Clinton and Rush.
